LOGO for Kerala School of Mathematics: - Design Competition

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) invites entries from individuals or groups (not more than 3 individuals) for its New Research Center, Kerala School of Mathematics, Kozhikode.

The ‘Kerala School of Mathematics’ (KSM) is a new R&D institution established as a joint venture of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) & Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) at Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode, with the objective of promoting quality education and research in mathematical sciences in the country and in particular in Kerala. The institute inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala Shri. V.S. Achuthanandan on 3rd June 2008 is a dream come true for the mathematical science community of the state. The school is a renaissance of the rich heritage of Kerala mathematics in the 14th-16th century. Located in a picturesque setting, surrounded by serene hillocks and lavish spread of greenery, the institute is located in a 10 acre plot next to the CWRDM Campus at Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode district of Kerala. The traditional Kerala style of architecture used in constructing the institute building provides an academic ambience, congenial for creativity and innovation.

It is proposed to have an appropriate Logo for the ‘Kerala School of Mathematics’. The emblem should be unique and appealing and should convey the spirit of the institute in a wide perspective.

Entries are invited for an appropriate ‘logo’ from individuals or groups consisting of not more than three individuals. The logo may be neatly drawn or in digital format with a hard copy in A4 size paper. 5 copies of the entries may be submitted.

The entries will be evaluated by a Panel of experts consisting of Artists and Mathematicians. The selected entry will be given a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-and a citation.

The selected Logo will be a property of KSCSTE and the IPR and copyright of the logo will be vested with KSCSTE. KSCSTE also will have the rights to make any necessary alterations/modifications in the selected entry as well.

The Council reserves the right to accept/reject any or all the entries. The decision of the Council will be final and. The Design if selected will be intimated to the designer/group by mail, no further communication will be entertained in this regard.

The entries should reach the office of the Executive Vice President on or before 15th July 2008
